Double Win for Gordon College: Two Erasmus+ Capacity-Building Projects Secured

We are thrilled to announce that Gordon Academic College of Education has secured funding for two major international projects under the prestigious Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) scheme. These projects reflect a significant recognition of Gordon’s leadership in promoting peace, innovation, and equity through education—both nationally and across continents.

HOPE – Higher Education for Openness, Peace & Empathy

This project brings together universities from Greece, Germany, and Israel, aiming to position higher education institutions at the forefront of peace education, reconciliation, and conflict transformation. The initiative seeks to empower universities to develop and implement cutting-edge curricula that equip students and professionals with the knowledge, values, and skills to address conflicts in both social and professional contexts.

Gordon College will play a leading role, focusing on:

  • Designing innovative courses on peace education
  • Training teaching staff
  • Facilitating inter-institutional collaborations
  • Leading dialogue-based student initiatives
  • Promoting connections with policymakers and local communities
  • Establishing sustainable frameworks for teaching, research, and civic dialogue

The project coordinator is the Hellenic Mediterranean University in Crete, and HOPE places special emphasis on public engagement through seminars, conferences, and policy-oriented discussions involving educators, decision-makers, and civil society.

MANDELA – Multilateralism through Negotiation and Cultural Diplomacy Education in the Levant and Africa

This ambitious multiregional project brings together academic and civil society partners from Israel, Ghana, Ethiopia, Germany, Austria, and Romania. Funded under the Erasmus+ CBHE program, MANDELA promotes cross-regional cooperation between Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and supports capacity building in cultural diplomacy and conflict-sensitive education.

The project is coordinated by Sakhnin College for Teacher Education and Gordon College will serve as a central partner, contributing extensively to:

  • Project management and implementation
  • Faculty training and professional development
  • Development of pilot courses
  • Integration of innovative pedagogies promoting intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and equality

Both projects will officially launch on January 1st, 2026, and will run for three years. This dual success marks a remarkable achievement for Israeli academia, especially in today’s complex international climate. It is a testament to the dedication, resilience, and strategic vision of the international team at Gordon College.

These successes not only strengthen Gordon College’s position on the global stage but also open meaningful opportunities for educators and students across the region.
