    Study a semester at Gordon

    Everything an incoming student needs: academic calendar, English programme, application timeline, accommodation, Buddy System, Hebrew course and practical information for arriving in Haifa.

    Welcome to GACE
    One semester. Three cultures. A Mediterranean classroom.

    As an incoming Erasmus+ student, you join one of the most diverse teacher-training colleges in Israel. You will study alongside Jewish, Arab, Druze and Bedouin classmates, take English-taught courses on multicultural education, special education and Hebrew as a second language, and benefit from the International Center’s support throughout your stay.

    Gordon’s English programme for future English teachers is built around nine clusters covering language, linguistics, literature, didactics, education, learning disabilities, technology and research.

    All incoming students are expected to stay through the end of the exam period.

    English programme
    Nine learning clusters.

    Gordon College’s English programme for future English teachers is comprised of nine clusters:

    Hebrew course, free of charge

    We offer a basic-level Hebrew course for all our international students, free of charge.

    Enrichment Programme

    Intercultural tours, lectures and activities for our international students to enrich their experience and increase their enjoyment from their stay at Gordon.

    Eligibility
    Who can apply.
    Officially nominated by a partner European HEI under an active Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreement.
    Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD programme related to education, humanities or social sciences.
    Minimum B2 level of English, or Hebrew where applicable.
    Good academic standing, typically GPA equivalent to 75/100 or higher.
    Valid passport for at least 6 months beyond the planned end date.

    Six clear milestones from nomination to your first week on campus in Haifa.

    Nomination by your home university

    Your International Office nominates you to [email protected], including full name, email, study level and dates.

    5 months before
    Application & Learning Agreement

    We send you the online application form. You upload transcript, passport copy, motivation letter and a draft Learning Agreement.

    4 months before
    Acceptance & invitation letter

    Once accepted, Gordon issues an official invitation letter required for the A/2 student visa application at the Israeli Embassy in your country.

    3 months before
    Visa, insurance & housing

    Apply for the A/2 student visa, purchase the mandatory health insurance through an Israeli provider, and confirm your dormitory booking.

    2 weeks before
    Travel & arrival logistics

    Share your arrival details. Airport pick-up is not offered, but we share clear instructions for trains and Amal taxis from Ben Gurion.

    Week 1
    Orientation week

    Welcome session, campus tour, course confirmation, signature of the final Learning Agreement, Buddy System pairing and a cultural tour of Haifa.

    Buddy System
    Student-to-student support.

    The Buddy System is a student-to-student programme developed for the benefit of incoming international students at Gordon. It creates peer-bonds between Gordon’s Israeli and international students that facilitate the international students’ first steps in Israel.

    Run by Gordon’s International Center, the programme connects you with Israeli students who help you learn, from a student’s perspective, what life is like at Gordon, in Haifa and across Israel.

    Student dorms at 21 Hanamal St., Haifa, apartments of 3 or 4 rooms, fully-equipped shared kitchens. Approx. 1,400–1,600 NIS / month.

    As a student at Gordon Academic College of Education, you may be eligible to spend a study period at one of our European partner universities through the Erasmus+ KA171 student mobility programme.

    The opportunity is open to undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing, with sufficient English or the language of the host institution.

    for Gordon Faculty & Staff

    Teaching and administrative staff at Gordon are able to spend a period of time in another participating country with the aim of improving their skills, enhancing their employability and gaining greater understanding and responsiveness to social, linguistic and cultural diversity.

    Programme overview
    Two paths: Staff Training & Staff Teaching.

    Gordon's faculty and administrative staff are warmly encouraged to take part in this exchange programme. It increases the quality of work and activities for our students and increases motivation and satisfaction in your daily work.

    Mobility paths
    Choose the mobility format that fits your professional goals.
    Staff Training

    Use this funding possibility to follow a training programme within Europe. The aim of an Erasmus+ Staff Training is to gain knowledge or new insights from colleagues or projects in another higher education institution, including one-on-one job shadowing or attending an International Staff Training Week.

    Duration: 5 days excluding travel days. The grant includes a fixed amount for travel compensation and a daily allowance for expenses.

    Staff Teaching

    Teaching staff may apply for an Erasmus+ Staff Teaching grant. The teaching may only take place at an institution with which your relevant faculty has a bilateral Erasmus+ agreement.

    Duration: 5 days excluding travel days, with a minimum of 8 teaching hours. The grant includes travel compensation and a daily allowance.

    Submission timeline
    Submit your application at least 6 weeks before the activity.

    The application form for Staff Training / Teaching must be submitted by e-mail to [email protected] at least 6 weeks before the start of the activity. Please include details of the training / teaching programme and signatures from yourself, your supervisor and the contact person at the receiving institution.

    Letter stating your motivation for applying for the Erasmus+ scholarship and describing the activities planned for the duration of the mobility in the host university, including any existing or intended cooperation with the host institution.

    Copy of the first page of your passport

    Mobility Agreement (Staff / Teachers), sets out the programme of teaching or training, defines the components of the period abroad and emphasises the mutual responsibility for the quality of the mobility of both the sending and the receiving institution.

    The final decision regarding the academic and administrative staff admitted to this programme will be taken by a committee overseen by the President's office.
