On Wednesday, October 14, Gordon Academic College of Education held a farewell meeting in the President’s Office for three South Korean students, Sion Lee, Jiyoon Park and Youngung Kim, who are returning to South Korea after graduating from the College, where they completed four years of academic studies.
The gathering provided an opportunity to thank the students for choosing Gordon as the place to pursue their studies and to hear firsthand about their experiences during their years in Israel.
Lessons Beyond the Classroom
During the conversation, the students spoke about the challenges of studying in a different academic and cultural environment, the differences they observed between South Korean and Israeli societies, and the lessons they gained beyond the classroom. They also reflected on how living and studying in Israel had broadened their understanding of Israeli society and contributed to their personal development.
The Impact of Studying Abroad
Over the past four years, the students gained knowledge in their respective fields, became familiar with Israeli society, encountered new approaches to learning and built relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds. These experiences contributed to their personal and academic development while also bringing new perspectives and enriching the Gordon community.
Their contribution to Gordon’s international community will certainly be remembered.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Levenberg, Dr. Nasseraldeen and Ms. Seni wished the graduates every success as they return to South Korea and embark on the next stage of their professional and personal lives.
