Erasmus+ CBHE HOPE Project to Advance Peace Education
The International Center
Gordon Academic College of Education is proud to announce its participation in the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project HOPE – Higher Education for Openness, Peace, and Empathy, an international initiative that positions higher education institutions as key drivers of peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and reconciliation.
Our involvement reflects the College’s longstanding commitment to multicultural awareness and inclusive education, as well as its recognition of the growing need to address classroom tensions and strengthen peace education, challenges that have become increasingly visible in the context of recent global and regional conflicts.
Spanning three years, the HOPE project brings together universities from Germany, Greece, and Israel in a strategic partnership aimed at fostering a culture of Constructive Conflict Resolution within higher education. By equipping teacher educators and academic staff with innovative pedagogical tools, the project seeks to promote dialogue, mutual understanding, and coexistence across diverse learning environments.
A cornerstone of the initiative will be the establishment of a Peace Education Hub, designed to ensure long term sustainability and support the ongoing exchange of knowledge, practices, and research in reconciliation and empathy-driven education.
The Gordon College team leading this important work includes Dr. Shosh Davidson and Prof. Shai Rudin, who are spearheading staff training and pedagogical development; Dr. Anabel Friedlander-Lipsik, overseeing quality assurance and monitoring; and Shadia Sbait together with Markos Zografos, serving in key coordination roles within the international consortium.
Through its participation in HOPE, Gordon Academic College of Education continues to strengthen its international engagement while advancing its mission to prepare educators who can lead with empathy, navigate complexity, and contribute to more inclusive and peaceful societies.
