On October 8, Gordon Academic College of Education had the honor of hosting an official delegation from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Sofia, Bulgaria, led by Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov, President of UNWE, and Prof. Sachev, Head of Department.
The visit began with a formal signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions, attended by:
Prof. Ilana Levenberg, Acting President of Gordon College;
Mr. Igal Shines, Vice President for Administration and Finance;
Dr. Eli Vinokur, Vice President for Strategy and Head of the International Center;
Ms. Shadia Sbait, International Projects Manager and liaison to UNWE; and
Prof. Nitsa Shvovski, outgoing Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
During the meeting, both institutions held fruitful discussions on joint initiatives, including:
🔹 Student and staff exchanges under the Erasmus+ program
🔹 Development of joint courses and learning modules
🔹 Collaborative project proposals for EU funding opportunities
🔹 A proposal for a Dual Master’s Degree in Educational Management and the Economics of Education, as a foundation for long-term partnership
🔹 Future collaboration in establishing joint centers for pedagogical innovation, and research and development initiatives in the fields of innovative teaching and digital learning
The visit concluded with an inspiring tour of Gordon’s innovative learning spaces, led by Ms. Maya Roginsky, who presented the guests with cutting-edge models of interactive teaching, educational technologies, and breakthrough learning environments that position Gordon College at the forefront of innovative education in Israel.
This visit marks an important milestone in the new strategic direction of Gordon’s International Center, which aims to deepen global partnerships, foster an international network of educational institutions, and strengthen Gordon College’s presence in the global academic arena.
